This knife is hand-forged by the famous master blacksmith, Alexander Danilov. He's an expert in forging D2 steel and is passionate about preserving the traditions and secrets of forging metal from the iron ore of the ancient Sakha people. His knives are sold all over the world. You can see him working with iron ore in one of the short films on the website.
Traditionally, the handle is made from a birch cap in its natural shape. It is very strong and beautiful in its pattern. The guard is made of brass.
The sheath is made by a renowned craftsman, with a bull’s tail wrapped in a birch liner, as each craftsman says his approach to the business. The side is crushed by the footprints of a bear, which beautifully decorates the sheath. The loops are made of horsehair for the belt.
All sheaths made of natural materials require special care, and protection from excessive moisture, keep dry, and wipe with oil.
